Immortality seems like a good idea, until you realize you're going to spend it alone.
So I went to sleep, hoping that the sounds of the passing eras would fade out, and a sort of death might happen. But as I lay there, the world didn't sound like the place I had left, but something different. It became worthwhile to rise again as new gods were born and worshipped. Night and day, they were never alone.
I would become one of them. But suddenly I was feeling better than ever. My senses so high they led me straight to the instrument of my resurrection, playing in my old house.
From that moment on, they were my friends, my children, my band. Giving the world a new god Many times since then I've called for Marius, but there was no answer. Just the endless precession of days, months, years My teacher left me to my darkest lesson, that in the end, we are alone, and there is nothing but the cold, dark wasteland of eternity.
Boo back [smiles] [in a TV interview cast worldwide, talking to all the vampires listening] Come out, come out, wherever you are. To Jessie Well, I can fix that. The question provoked an irresistible urge I am the vampire Lestat. It just rolled out of my mouth. With one simple sentence I had betrayed everything about my kind.
Betrayed our code of secrecy. Maybe I'm trying to resurrect a few old friends.
Daring them to come out. I impressed my maker with my thirst for things. He set out to educate me in the unknown.
Taught me all about the world, its hidden history And as for my new powers,I was beside myself with the pleasure of it all But why must we hide, Marius? We are the powerful, we are the immortal.

We should walk fearless in the open! The faces of my victims haunted me, reminding me of my fate For nights and nights I played, furious.
Never again I would participate in the simple joys of life. I was meant for more than this. Come, let me show you what it means to live in the light. Such reverence for mortals!
Then you should have left me as one! Or maybe not. Vampiric powers? However, I'm loath to just delete the section entirely. I suggest moving it to the article on The Vampire Chronicles.

Hbackman , 4 January UTC I concur, and actually quite a bit of the "differences" content falls into that same boat. Vampires are incapable of having sex. Akasha and Lestat in the book never have sex, they just ingage in a large ammount of blood sharing. In the movie it is not shown that they have sex, but it is mearly implied.
On the "vampires can't have sex" issue. Vampires CAN have sex, but they don't get pleasure from it, for vampires sharing blood gives them more pleasure.
This is shown in Pandora Can you show a specific quote from Pandora that says this? I read Pandora, and don't remember that, and it pretty much directly contradicts what Lestat says in Queen of Damned. As for blood sharing giving sexual pleasure, that is obvious from the books, but I don't recall it being because it is more pleasurable than sex although it may be more pleasureable than mortal sex was for them.
Lestat clearly talks about his non-functioning penis, and talks about Osiris and how his penis was not recovered, and this being an allegory for vampires. Lestat does go down on someone forget her name in Memnoch, which gave an emotional bond, and he got her blood as she was menstrating.
When the vampire who seeks Lestat - Quinn - to help him with Goblin is made, there is a description of a Vampire with an erection Or a chapter or something?
This might be taken into consideration but the IMHO the book on which the movie is based is of primary importance to the film. However, since the movie never shows or claims any vampires to have had sex, I don't see where the contradiction lies.
What we see in the film doesn't contradict the book and the implication is ambiguous. Str smile back , 2 October UTC in the book Akasha and lestat are never together the movie is a combo of two stories from 2 books. Akasha isn't Iraqi either but a creole or mullato girl from New Orleans. I would imagine they used lestat because the fame from the previous movie.

Rice has done a bit of both, and I lost interest after the fifth volume Memnoch the Devil. And I have come to give it to you. Hbackman , 4 January UTC I concur, and actually quite a bit of the "differences" content falls into that same boat. I read the Vampire Chronicles when I was 12, and I've found that re-reading them again at 40 was well worth it.
